Southern California is familiar with preparing for natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, and fires, however hurricanes has not been on the list for decades. The region is expected to receive the amount of rainfall that it normally receives in one year in just one day. Residents received ample warning in time to prepare and “shelter in place” during the storm.
