Athletes representing the United States of America are performing exceptionally well at the 2024 Olympic Games. Midway through the competition, their OTT (Over The Top) performances are making history and breaking world records in several categories. America’s sweetheart, Simone Biles, was named the Olympic GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) for earning more medals than any other Olympian gymnast in history. This has been an extraordinary accomplishment especially after she had to withdraw from the games in 2020 because she had the “twisties.” Twisties are described as a condition when mind and body don’t align, causing disorientation, dizziness, and other frustrating symptoms. It is not uncommon for this to happen to gymnasts and can be very dangerous. When Biles decided to withdraw from the 2020 games she was ridiculed and called a quitter by those who would not support the importance of her mental health. Nevertheless, many others applauded her courage to stand up for what was most important – her health. This year Simone Biles returned with her “redemption tour,” aspiring to reclaim her title as a world champion. She has done that and more as her accomplishments are being celebrated in America and around the world.
